Overseas Vietnamese Village

Overseas Vietnamese Community – a driving force for innovation development in Vietnam
The community of overseas Vietnamese consists of approximately 2 million people. Many of them is well-known world-wide for their expertise and experience in several fields including high technology.

Currently, the government has adopted several policies to mobilize Vietnamese expatriates to contribute to the industrialization and modernization of Vietnam.

Location and general objective
In such context, the Overseas Vietnamese Village is created. Located betwen Go Cong river and the service area of SHTP, covering an area of 3.5 hectares, the village serves as a Science Space for scientists, researchers, investors and professors of Vietnamese origin in other countries to come to implement their projects and transfer their knowledge in the field of high technology.

Specific objectives
The village is designed to promote innovation by the cross-fertilzation of knowledge through a new model of public-private partnership. This is to enhance the relationship between overseas Vietnamese and their host countries so as to attract foreign organizations to invest in SHTP.

It also aims to create an attractive address imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity to bridge Vietnamese expatriates of different generations, especially the second and third ones through exchange and cultural activities.
